Hakodate, one of Japan's first port opening to international influence.Foreign cultures were quickly adopted here, and it thrived as a trading hub. Even today, the streets are adorned with historically valuable Japanese and Western-style architecture, and Japanese and foreign cultures coexist.
Despite being conveniently accessible, just a 20-minute drive from the airport to the city center, Hakodate maintains close proximity to nature, including mountains and the sea. Abundant in hot springs and rich in resources, it is a town of historical and natural wealth.
